In news that rocked Hollywood yesterday, Michael Jackson's nose
decided it had finally had enough of their rocky relationship over
the years - and that's the reason it gave the pop superstar his
walking papers.
4BG has learned that the nose, aiding Jackson's breathing his entire
life until recently, will walk away from what insiders call its
"job" as the singer's nose with a multimillion dollar
package -- plus $250,000 a year for every year Jacko and his nose
were united.
"The news that it was filing for divorce wasn't really a surprise,"
says an insider. "Did anyone really think they sat well together?"
"His nose suffered badly over the years, but all the while
stuck it out for the benefit of his face. It's pretty clear that
it was only a matter of time before things started going haywire."
In exchange for the money, the nose agreed to live in its own apartment,
visit the eyes and mouth only at specified times and not reveal
details of their arrangement. Jacko's nose confided to pals after
the announcement of their divorce that it wanted to start a new
life.
"It just wants to end this bizarre episode of its life,"
says a friend. "A quick divorce will be better for everyone."
Jackson, who was recording his latest album in New York when his
nose filed for divorce, immediately returned to wearing his face
mask - the reason of which has become apparent in this shocking
news. Jackson and his nose were literally attached to each other
permanently, however his nose always felt that "[Jackson] was
trying to change me - [to] force me to be something I'm not".

Jackson's nose called for a press statement, announcing the
divorce yesterday.
Jackson said: "My nose and I love each other for all the things
you'll never see on stage or in pictures. I fell for the beautiful,
unpretentious, easy-breathing nose, but now it's different - pointy,
blocked, but I'm ashamed we couldn't work things out."
"The nose is set financially for life as long as it doesn't
talk about the marriage," said an insider.
"They were friends, not lovers. Michael was desperate to breathe,
and his nose offered to do just that. It was that simple."
""I also know that his nose felt that Michael was ashamed
of it - always covering it up, hiding it - that did nothing for
its self confidence as a breathing organ."
Another source added: "For the past year, since Michael started
showing his nose in public again, his nose was literally a prisoner
of the relationship - Michael had changed it into something it wasn't
- of course the public was going to reject it. I think, in the end,
it found that being attached to Michael Jackson's face was not the
bed of roses that people imagined it to be. There's surgery. There's
mucus. There's constant make-up. It just wants a simple life again."
