I then went back to PLaynow... Then Playnow got hacked.. and someone changed my password.
So I registered here... and havent been arsed moving since.

what a great thread.
so yeah, i'm responsible for ev posting here. which means i deserve more fucking props than i get.
i think i started lurking on playnow around, say, 98/99? i remember when it was a button on the old IE menu.. i never actually posted though, just used it as a news source. and one thing led to another and then i started lurking on 4bg, where i did the same. aah, bliss.
ev forced me to post and the rest is history. it actually took a lot of coaxing to get me on here officially because i had been greatly discouraged from forums from back in my amateur game dev days (yes i made games.. or attempted to ffs). but now i am posting like a loon and attending 1/50000000000000000 4bg pissups which isn't that bad an effort. end.

I found 4bg when browsing Yahoo one time a few years ago. I only ever read the front page. Then the front page never got updated, so I looked around the site more. I didn't even know what a forum was until I signed up for this one.

I was half-arsedly a PN regular (VERY half-arsedly) and was also on a forum called zgeek.
Elvis PMed me through zgeek during PN hack #1 and the rest, one might say, is history

Kirsty messaged me one day asking me if I could find the "login" link on the site. I found it for her, and thought nothing of it for a few weeks. One day, again at Kirsty's request, I came to the site to view a thread on religious freaks, or something like that. Almost two years of my life I will never get back

No. Me either. Not one bit.
It was a sad day in the history of the internet, that's for sure.

If only the person responsible could be brought to justice.

The ODWF was classic, a real shame when they finally closed it down. I remember Megaman posting ACSII of Goatse on the final day. I registered at PN at the same time and found out about 4BG there. I registered in 2002 but my account disappeared (probably in the upgrade). I started posting here more frequently after PN became progressively more shit.

Kirsty said to me one day "wanna talk to a buch of bitter boys?" and I replied "fuck no" then she said "they are all Australian" and then i said "dude, okay!"
uuuh, or she was going on about soemthing someone posted on here and she gave me the link and I got so bored with my other forum that this one slowly started taking it's place until it became a regularly visited site.

Wow, first post and i'm explaining how I found this place.
I've been a regular on another forum, mostly yanks and poms though and its started going through some changes i didn't like. So i went a-searchin for a new place to chill out and this place seemed pretty cool.
So hi, i guess.

Ahahaha, do a Google image search for "hammercow", you won't be disappointed. I hope the Queen Mum version of that's still floating around somewhere.
