When you've got a cold, that's fine, because you know you're sick. You get a runny nose and a sore throat and you smell like old man's pyjamas.
When you get a virus, it can creep up on you.
On Monday I thought, 'nah, I'm just tired.' Kept on working, achieving bugger-all, thinking perhaps I just needed more sleep. Felt a bit poor in the guts, thought maybe the coffee was a bit strong.
Tuesday, I wake up feeling like death. No recognisable symptoms though, just generally rubbish. Since then I've walked into walls and lost hours in what felt like minutes.
Of I go to the doctor, thinking I'm a mentalist. He says it's a virus, gives me most of the week off work and tells me to stop feeling guilty.
Today I thought I was getting better, until I caught the smell of burning metal. Q: What kind of nutbar leaves a frying pan on the element for 30 minutes? A: Viroid me.
Now I'm too scared to touch anything in case I break it, burn it or fall asleep on it.

The worst one is when you go to the gym feeling "a bit light headed" and think you probably just didn't get enough sleep the night before.. then 20 minutes in you realise you're completely parched and dizzy and have to stop because it's hurting to swallow... then the rest of the afternoon you feel the virus kicking in and have to deal with the exhaustion as well.

I hate viruses
When I was in Hong Kong I caught some kind of virus.
I was in bed for like a whole week, and it took me about 3 weeks to start feeling 100% again.

you cant treat a virus with antibiotics.
i seem to be highly susceptible to stomach bugs. the worst one i had landed me in hospital over night with the fucking worst cramps i have ever experienced in my life, chest pains, difficulty breathing, vomiting, pissing blood and liquid poo. they pumped me full of drugs, took a shit load of tests and couldnt tell me what was wrong, they sent me home the next day and said i need to go and see my GP for a follow up (more tests), which i didnt, but a week later my best friends dad (microbiologist who heads up the health sciences faculty at sydney uni) told me it was some rare stomach virus.
stupid hospital.

No, but you can treat the secondary bacterial infection which can be fairly common with viral bronchitis.
