About Adam
My name is Adam. I am a grumpy old bastard. I eat way too much chocolate and don't play nearly as many video games as I should.
I read quite a bit: mainly comedy, fantasy, science fiction, i.e. geek fodder. Currently I'm churning my way through such authors as Neil Gaiman, John Wyndham, Iain M. Banks, and Tad Williams; and Mary Gentle, Kim Stanley Robinson, Asimov, and Feist are next in line.
I'm still chipping away at a Bachelor of Computing part time and I can program to a moderate level in C/C++, Java, Delphi, (Visual) Basic, and some other stuff which doesn't get used anymore and was never useful to begin with. I know my way around Linux, most UNIXes, VMS, Mac OS X, and Microsoft stuff.
Music? I don't play it but I listen to it. Lots. The range is pretty broad: XTC, Stereolab, King Crimson, They Might Be Giants, Enya, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Big Audio Dynamite, Art Of Noise, Paul McCartney, TISM, Blur, PWEI, Yello, ELO, Adrian Belew, Elliott Smith, Radiohead... the list goes on. And yes, elements of it are embarrassing.
I don't have a religion, I don't pull the chicks, and I don't watch Ally McBeal. Um, very often. I own a Super Mario bean bag.
